This was my first time in front of the fence at Sonoma Raceway and my first drift event as approved media. This was also my first time using a Canon body and lens for an event. I can now see why Larry Chen shoots only in Canon.
Before knowing anything about the drift world, I held my preconceived notions above everything anyone ever told me about drifting. I am glad to say that I am a changed person and find drifting to be exciting, experimental, and overall fun. Will I build my own drift car? Probably not. But I will never say no to hopping in the passenger seat for a chance on the track.
My only complaint about this weekend was the egregious amount of rain that made it very difficult to see through my view finder. Nevertheless, I persevered and came through with my favorite shots of 2025.
